Black Tartarian
Prunus avium 'Black Tartarian' · Stone fruit
Top 10 pairings
Black Tartarian is one of the oldest and best-known dark sweet cherries — a large, purplish-black, heart-shaped fruit with tender, juicy, richly sweet flesh and a distinctive bright, almost wine-like flavour. An early-season cherry treasured for fresh eating, it is also one of the most widely planted pollinizers in sweet-cherry orchards.
