Liqueur
Blue Curaçao
Blue Curaçao is the same bitter-orange curaçao liqueur — flavoured with the dried peel of the bitter laraha orange grown on the Caribbean island of Curaçao — dyed a vivid electric blue with food colouring; the blue is purely cosmetic, and the drink tastes of sweet, candied orange exactly like its clear, orange and white siblings.

Candied
Intensely sweet and syrupy, blue curaçao leads with a bright, fragrant orange-peel and citrus-oil aroma — the sun-dried laraha peel — over a candied, marmalade sweetness with a faintly bitter orange-pith edge on the finish. The texture is viscous and rounded, the alcohol gentle for a liqueur at around a fifth to a quarter ABV, and the electric-blue colour is purely visual: the palate is the same sweet candied orange as clear curaçao or triple sec, with a lingering sweet-citrus aftertaste.
