The blood clam (Tegillarca granosa), also called the blood cockle or ark clam, is a small ridge-shelled bivalve of the family Arcidae, prized across coastal East and Southeast Asia for its deep-red, iron-rich flesh. It is eaten lightly blanched or raw, the colour and brininess setting it apart from pale-fleshed clams.
