Foreign Extra Stout is the strong, boldly hopped export member of the stout family — a jet-black, top-fermented ale of around 6.5 to 8 percent ABV, brewed originally to survive long sea voyages and now one of the most widely drunk beers of West Africa and the Caribbean, layering intense roasted coffee and dark-chocolate bitterness over sharp, tangy, almost sour dark fruit.
