Becherovka is a Czech herbal bitters (bylinný likér) from the spa town of Karlovy Vary, made since 1807 to a secret botanical recipe. Bottled at 38% ABV, it is amber-gold in colour and defined by a warm Christmas-spice character — cinnamon, clove and anise over a bed of ginger-like herbs and gentle sweetness — that has made it the Czech Republic's best-known digestif.
