Barolo Chinato is a Piedmontese aromatized wine liqueur — a fortified, quinated (chinato) preparation built on Barolo DOCG red wine from Nebbiolo grapes, infused with cinchona bark and a spiced blend of botanicals. Bottled at around 16–17% ABV, it is a classic digestivo: deep garnet, warm and lightly sweet, with the tannic backbone of great Barolo threaded through bitter quinine, cinnamon, cardamom, clove and rhubarb root.
