The Burro banana — also sold as Chunky, Horse or Orinoco-type banana — is a short, stubby, distinctly squared-off banana of the Bluggoe (ABB) cooking-banana subgroup. When fully ripe it is yellow with black flecks, soft and creamy, and carries a bright lemon-tinged tang on top of the usual banana sweetness that sets it apart from a plain Cavendish.
