Anardana is the sun-dried seed of the pomegranate (Punica granatum) — most often of wild or sour-fruited types — used as a tart, fruity souring agent in North Indian, Pakistani and Persian cooking. The name comes from the Persian anar ("pomegranate") plus dana ("seed").
