Ambarella (Spondias dulcis), also called June plum, golden apple or hog plum, is an egg-shaped tropical fruit of the cashew family (Anacardiaceae). Eaten green and crisp for its mouth-puckering tartness, or golden and soft for a sweet-sour pineapple-mango note, it is a staple of street snacks, pickles and juices across the tropics.
