Advieh is the warm, floral all-purpose spice blend of Persian (Iranian) cooking — its name is simply the Persian word for "spices" (from the Arabic-derived adwiya). Built around rose petals, green cardamom, cinnamon and cumin, often with a lift of dried lime, it is the everyday aromatic dusted over rice, stirred into stews (khoresh) and rubbed onto meats, prized more for perfume than for heat.
